I did my first degree in Modern Languages at the University of Exeter, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at the University of Reading. I then went on to do CRUSE bereavement training, followed by training with the Esteem branch of the Oasis Trust to deliver workshops on Self-esteem, friendships and relationships and sexual health in schools and youth groups.
Following that I completed 5 years of counselling training, including a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, and a Foundation year in Transactional Analysis (TA) at the Berne Institute and Trauma training. I enjoy studying and am currently working towards a CTA (Certified Transactional Analyst Award) in Education and have completed Level 1 Theraplay Training.
I currently work in schools, in private practice and have also served as a volunteer counsellor for Bedford Open Door, a counselling agency for 13-25 year olds. I am a licensed presenter of Care for the Family’s “Let’s stick together” (a 1 hour presentation to new mums and dads aimed at strengthening families, improving relationship quality, reducing conflict and family breakdown.) I also run Marriage and Parenting Courses.
